Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do you make these yourself?
Yes, I create them all at home, located in Pasadena Texas, in my "Cozy Comfort Cottage."
2. What is inside?
The herbs that I use are lavender, chamomile and cinnamon in most of my collars, lumbar pads & eye pillows. I can fill them with other herbs, if you like, or I can omit an herb if a person is allergic to any of these three. Most people really seem to love this combination. The grains that I use are wheat berries & flax seed. These grains help to hold the heat or the cold, which- ever you choose to use.
3. How long do they stay warm?
Usually a collar will hold its heat for about 30 minutes or so.
4. Can you use them for cold treatment?
Yes, I actually store my product in the freezer between craft shows & until an order is placed.
5. How do you heat the collar or lumbar pad?
My instructions (which are included with every purchase) state that a gallon size, zipper-style plastic bag should be used. Place collar or lumbar pad inside, leaving the bag open. Since all microwaves have different power levels, I suggest that you begin with 1 minute and 30 seconds, and then check the temperature. It will most likely not be warm enough. Continue to heat, checking at 30-second intervals. Do not heat for over 3 minutes. Usually, the time is somewhere between 2 minutes & 30 seconds, to 3 minutes.
